Exchange San Diego by Francois Barieux

Exchange San Diego

An exchange is lit. I went to San Diego (California) for mine and it was probably the best semester of my life. Discovering the US is already quite the experience, but being able to live the college life is even crazier. In my first week, I went to a big party with I don’t even know how many people in a frat house with a pool on the balcony (alcohol for free btw). As soon as you speak with an accent, all the Americans will instantly fall in love with you and give you rides wherever, invite you to parties and help you out with uni. But the best part of the exchange is the exchange students (and chick-fil-a). You get to know a lot of really cool people and if you’re lucky enough, you’ll stay friends with them and have free housing all over Europe for your next holidays. You’ll likely do all your trips with them and get very close without even realizing it. Before you know it you’ll find yourself best friends with these people you met yesterday, and that’s when the exchange really becomes lit. Piece of advice though, if you’re in a relationship, I hope it’s strong. Because I have seen more cheating in these 6 months than I will ever see for the rest of my life.
Anyways, an exchange is lit. Regardless of where you go it’s the people you find yourself with that make the experience unforgettable. So if you’re thinking of going on an exchange, I would say: just sign up and go for it. It will be the best time of your life.
