Activities per year
POLIS is the study association for and by students Organization & Management Studies at Tilburg University. POLIS was founded at the 3rd of May 1991 and has grown over 30 years to an organization with over 550 members. By organizing both relaxing and study related activities we try to involve our members with POLIS and the university. These activities are organized by committees. By joining one of these committees you get the perfect opportunity to get some hands-on experience, in the rather theoretic environment the University offers. It is also a great opportunity to meet students from different years.
Global Management of Social Issues is a newer program and a track of the bachelor Organization & Management Studies. This program integrates knowledge from three academic fields in the social sciences: human resource studies, organization studies, and sociology, from a cross-cultural and international comparative perspective. Due to the fact that the bachelor Global Management of Social Issues is a track of the bachelor Organization & Management Studies and these studies are quite similar, both studies belong to Study Association POLIS. From now on, if we mention students Organization & Management Studies we also mean bachelor students Global Management of Social Issues.
POLIS organizes study related activities like visits to organizations, a study trip, a congress, workshops and recruitment activities. On the other hand we organize fun activities like parties in our favorite bar: Café de Boekanier. We also have activities like a pub crawl, family day and of course our introduction day! The introduction day is the perfect way to get to know POLIS and start your student career. All first years (bachelor and (pre) masters) are welcome to join us, have a good time, and learn something about study association POLIS and what we can help you with in your future career!
All members of Study association POLIS will be kept up to date about upcoming activities by sending them a newsflash, updates on the website and posts in the Whatsappgroup. Also every year POLIS makes an Yearbook , in which you can find photos and stories about the past year.
Next up is the book webshop. If you’re a member of POLIS you can get discounts if you order your study books through our webshop. It is 10% off Dutch literature and up to 20% discount for English literature. We also offer free summaries for different courses for our members, check the study support section for more information, or come by at our room (T6.21). Study association POLIS has contact with the Department of Organization Studies. Next to that POLIS has also good connections with the business sector, the alumni association POLITIS and with other study associations.
